steep canyon rangers“It’s one of two highlights of our year, this and Mountain Song, when we get to do shows for our hometown crowd,” said Platt. “We feel so much gratitude for the people who have supported us over the years the years. We love it.” The annual Mountain Song Festival every September at the Brevard Music Center helps the Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County. This January event benefits Asheville’s Vance Elementary and Evergreen Charter School.

“We want to help young kids,” Platt said. “We like keeping it local, supporting our communities.”

The shows will also begin a one-year sponsorship by Oskar Blues and Dale’s Pale Ale. Funds from a meet-and-greet before Saturday night’s show benefit the Oskar Blues CAN’d Aid Foundation, initially created to raise money for flood relief victims in Colorado.
